Hi! My name is Kira. Whether it's programming a plant to sing for water or creating a business to reduce produce food waste, I love taking on new challenges. In my free time, I love to draw.
Worked with a start up to create and customize their Shopify website. Since our sponsor is not a programmer, we needed to create effective solutions that were easily usable, while keeping on time via agile sprints.
During this hackathon, I learned to use Unity to create a 3D model of a building and Blender to manipulate character assets. In under 36 hours, the team worked to make a VR simulation game of raiding Area 51 for an alien. The team ended up win first place!
An entreprenuership endeavor dedicated to reducing produce waste. The business uses rejected- but edible- produce to create jams, jellies, and salsas at community events to allow a longer shelf life, larger distribution ranges, and community engagement.
An Arduino project where the speaker attached to a plant that makes various musical noises based on the moisture and light sensors detect. The speaker also makes a noise when the plant has gotten enough sunlight.
A prototype food delivery app built in Figma where users donate leftover catered food to shelters. Drivers who complete deliveries are rewarded with points which can be redeemed at different restaurants.
A hackathon dedicated to assist nonprofit organizations. This project focused on updating the Kidney Foundation of Arizona database for a more time efficient and user-friendly experience. This was my very first hackathon learning about HTML, Bootstrap, CSS, Angular.JS and sail.js. After 16 hours, the team placed 3rd overall!
